What happened on Love Island last night? Recap as twins Eve and Jess whip up a storm

Love Island returned to our screens last night (Sunday, January 12) - this time with a brand new host in the form of Laura Whitmore and a lavish new villa in South Africa.
Also new to this year's winter edition of the ITV2 show is a fresh batch of contestants, who are hoping to find love and make it all the way to the final.
After a steady start of getting to know the newbies and seeing them pair up, the show's producers dropped a massive bombshell on the villa, as they introduced identical twins, Eve and Jess.
For those who didn't manage to watch last night's episode, here's a recap of the main action...

What happened on Love Island last night?
The first Islanders to enter the Cape Town villa were Paige Turley and Siânnise Fudge
New host Laura Whitmore made a great first impression as she took over at the helm from Caroline Flack
The rest of the women arrived, before the first lad, Nas, made his entrance. In a savage turn of events, none of the girls stepped forward for him
Nas then decided to couple up with Siânnise
Scaffolder Callum then entered the villa and partnered up with Shaughna - who was more than delighted with his decision
Ollie was next to arrive, choosing to couple up with Lewis Capaldi's ex, Paige Turley
Despite saying he'd pick Paige in his Love Island promo vid, Connor decided to pick Rochelle Humes' sister, Sophie
Police officer Mike also made quite the impression when he swaggered into the villa, with Leanne finally stepping forward for someone
The girls and guys then shared awkward embraces, as they wandered off to get to know each other better

While most of the ladies are happy with their partners, Siânnise and Paige have expressed they're not feeling romantic connections with Nas and Ollie
Connor then pulled Sophie for a chat on the day bed, hoping his veneers would dazzle her - and for a moment it looked as though the couple would kiss
Then, in true Love Island fashion, everyone started sharing stories about their love lives - with Connor admitting that he once had a threesome with two girls. This did not go down well with Sophie, and the pair granted viewers the first domestic of the season
Just when we thought it was plain sailing, Shaugna got a text saying two bombshells were on their way. Enter: identical twins, Eve and Jess
- The twins have to decide who to couple up with which will mean stealing two guys who are currently partnered up - leaving the women vulnerable
Judging from the preview clip of Monday's episode, it looks as though Eve and Jess might fall out over the decision
Who coupled up with who?
- Connor and Sophie
- Nas and Siânnise
- Callum and Shaughna
- Ollie and Paige
- Mike and Leanne
How long is Love Island on for?

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
