Prove it With Fps2D – Android App Review

App Name: Fps2D

Description: Graphical benchmark program that measures 2D frames per second (fps). Shows instant, average, log10 histogram, and std. deviation of frame rate.

Normal results are: avg 58-60fps, a bell shaped histogram, and stdev under 10. Details are dumped to LogCat. See web site for Droid 2.1 update discussion.

How it works: You just start the application up and let it run. It will show you your fps at the end.

Opinion: I don’t use this application much, but if you are using an Evo, this will help you prove that it only runs at 30fps.

Pro:

  • simple

Con:

  • not much to it other than results

Conclusion: This is an extremely simple benchmark that you can check out for free.
