Droid X Gets Yet Another Pre-release Update

Initial reports are vague as to what the update actually contains but the 18MB OTA download was released just days before the launch of the much anticipated Droid X. Update 1.13.516 is still Android OS 2.1, and is rumoured to improve the camera, users having noticed that images “might look a tad sharper”. No word on when froyo is to be released for the superphone. It has been widely speculated that phones running a non-stock version of Android such as sense, motoblur or the Droid X’s ninjablur will only receive a froyo update once all of the nooks and crannies specific to those installations have been tested. The lucky few who have found a Droid X through Motorola / Verizon’s Droid Landing marketing campaign can expect to see an update before the official launch of the phone on July 15th.
