iGolf Mobile by L1 Technologies For Android

iGolf is a familiar brand in the fairways. Since 2003, iGolf, an L1 Technologies operated company has been providing the golf industry with enterprise level and direct to consumer GPS software, products and services. According to iGolf, thousands of golfers rely on iGolf Mobile applications, powered by iGolf partner products and iGolf.com every day to provide GPS data and listings for more than 32,500 courses worldwide.

Through a recent press release, L1 Technologies, parent company of the iGolf has announced the release of iGolf Mobile for Android (NewsAlert) enabled phones. This free-to-download application includes professionally mapped GPS data and course listings for more than 33,000 golf courses worldwide.

iGolf Mobile is designed to help golfers improve their scores by instantly finding accurate distances to key points on every hole for detailed shot planning and club selection.

Below are some of the free membership features of this newly released application.

iGolf Mobile includes precise distance to the front, center, back of the green and custom points (bunkers, water, hazards) on each mapped hole. Golfers can also use the app to measure shot distance, keep score for up to four players and track handicap/statistics.

Access to the latest golf news and exclusive opinion articles, as well as independent course, equipment and travel destination reviews are available within iGolf Mobile. An interactive map of the first hole on every course, showing the distance to any point on the hole, is also included for free as a premium membership preview.

The application also offers additional premium membership features, which are available for a monthly price of $5 or annual price of $50.

The developer of the app says that by upgrading to a Premium iGolf Membership, the golfers can access detailed, interactive hole maps with multi-level zoom for detailed shot planning on available courses. Premium maps provide distance to any point on the hole, allowing golfers to measure the exact distance to pin locations, hazards, lay up points and any other target on the course.

“We are excited to bring an enterprise level golf GPS application to the Android Market. iGolf Mobile is a powerful, free application that makes the latest golf GPS technology available to any golfer with an Android enabled mobile phone,” Gary Symington, general manager of the iGolf Division, said.

In the release, L1 Technologies further informed that iGolf Mobile is now available as a free download from the Android Market.
