Last month some news slipped on an upcoming Motorola Android device, codenamed Greco. If you haven’t heard, it has been rumored to be a full touch 850/900/2100 MHz 3G device. Judging from images, it appears to be a mid-ranged device. Well the rumor has just been verified. The FCC has just passed a Motorola device entitled ‘Greco’. It appears that it will be known as the Quench XT3 and XT5 upon release to the market. At this time, there is no information on the differences between the XT5 and XT3. The “Quench” is the name given to the CLIQ XT outside of the US. Furthermore, the XT is a midrange device. It stands to reason that the Quench XT3 and XT5 will be its successor and is likely to stand as a mid-range device – which verified our assumptions earlier.
The FCC reveal has not given a lot of information on its technical details. We do, however, know that it will come with WiFi 802.11 b/g, bluetooth 2.0 and GPS/AGPS. These have certainly become standard on most smartphones, so no surprise there. The Quench XT3 and XT5 have been approved for WCDMA II and V, so (in the US) AT&T seems like the likely candidate for its release.
Stay tuned for further information as it’s released!
