Adobe AIR in Q4, Flash out of beta on Nexus One

Adobe is in the midst of their Android Summit, and already, two big announcements have come out.  The first is that Adobe’s AIR platform will be out to all product lines in quarter four of this year.  It is unclear whether this will hit devices running 2.1, but certainly it will be on 2.2.

Adobe’s description of AIR is:

The Adobe® AIR® 2 runtime enables developers to use HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash® software, and ActionScript® to build web applications that run as standalone client applications without the constraints of a browser. Adobe AIR and the Adobe Flash Platform unleash the creativity of designers and developers by providing a consistent and flexible development environment for the delivery of applications across devices and platforms. Support for additional platforms, including Android, is under development.

The launch will occur when AIR is upgraded to 2.5.

Adobe also announced that Nexus One users running Froyo 2.2 can update their Adobe Flash applications in the market to a final release candidate from the beta that they had earlier.
