New R2-D2 Droid 2 from Motorola Being Heavily Promoted by Verizon

The limited edition  Star Warsâ„¢ Empire Strikes Back Special Edition R2-D2 phone is being heavily promoted by Verizon. There was recently an event in Orlando called the Celebration V. Guess who was there? That’s right, the new R2-D2 Droid 2 phone. The original Droid from Motorola helped put the Android OS on the map. With the recent influx of bigger and much faster phones, Verion and Motorola decided to bring back a second Droid phone. This one will boast a 1GHz processor and a few visual enhancements which will make the phone even more popular. The Droid 2 is the first phone that will come to market with Android 2.2. (Froyo) The phone is scheduled to launch on September 30. Currently there has been no word on pricing, but with everything Star Wars, this will surely be a huge hit!
