For months, we knew it would eventually be coming, but finally you can get your grubby hands on an HTC Desire on US Cellular. This is one of the first “good” Android handsets getting out to a smaller carrier.
The Desire has a 3.7 inch Super LCD display, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 MP camera with flash, and Android 2.1 Eclair.
While it is shipping with 2.1, it may see the Froyo goodness soon as many European carriers have started rolling out 2.2 updates to their versions of the Desire.
It will run you $200 if you grab it on two-year contract, or $500 outright. And for those of you hoping to grab one and put it on AT&T or T-Mobile, US Cellular uses CDMA not GSM so you are out of luck.
