Do you call a certain mobile number again and again? Do you text or send a lot of pictures to that number? Is that number on a different cellular provider? How would you like the ability to make unlimited calls, send unlimited text messages, or unlimited picture and video messages to that one mobile phone?
Sound good? If you live in Texas or Louisiana, and have Verizon Wireless as your cellular provider, you may be able to take advantage of their Unlimited Any Mobile Plan.
That’s right, you may. Only certain “eligible customers” are being offered this plan, and not all regions qualify. So who is eligible? Verizon lists the area codes that have “select cities” being offered the promotion, but doesn’t list the cities themselves. Only area code 318 in North Louisiana (Shreveport) qualifies, plus these in Texas: 210, 214, 254, 325, 361, 430, 432, 439, 469, 512, 682, 806, 817, 830, 903, 915, 940, 956 and 972.
From that list, these Texas cities may qualify: Abilene, Amarillo, parts of Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Fort Worth, Laredo, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, San Antonio, Tyler, Waco. Notice that this clearly does not mention Houston (281, 713, 832). Also failing to qualify are Galveston (409, 936, 979), some in Austin (the 737 overlay) Nacogdoches (936), and College Station (979).
The offer is also time-limited, available from July 30th to October 31st, 2010. These plans will support the Any Mobile promotion:
Single Line Plans:
- 450 minutes for $59.99
- 900 minutes for $79.99
Family SharePlans®:
- 700 minutes for $99.99
- 1400 minutes for $119.99
- 2000 minutes for $129.99
If you are eligible and interested in this plan, you can go to a Verizon Wireless store or call them at 1-888-800-6006. Changing service plans will not affect your existing contract terms.
A Verizon rep did not explain why only some regions were being offered the plan, only commenting that the offerings “are promotional plans specific to some customers.”
