They will schedule their OTA update 15,000 customers at a time from Tuesday until Friday, until all customers have received the update. Software updates to the Captivate include:
- Preinstalled software – QuickOffice for Android will allow users to edit various Microsoft Office documents.
- Messaging – Exchange 2003 support, MMS and other messaging enhancements.
- Voice – Improved calling experience.
- Media – media scanning time improvements.
AT&T reiterates the fact that the update is not an operating system update and will not fix reset or freezing issues caused by third party apps, insufficient phone memory, or corrupt files.
