Yeah, yeah, we just got those other leaked photos out of this new offering from Samsung. But these are so much nicer looking, no blur, nice and close, you can really see both the screens clearly.
You’re looking at the Samsung Continuum, another a Verizon Wireless smartphone coming to their stores soon. Even better, this is a Samsung Galaxy S family member, and that is a fine set of Android devices. It will have model number SCH-i400, if you follow these things, and most of the Galaxy Goodness we already know and love. Yes, that includes the 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, and the beautiful Super AMOLED display that everyone wants and Samsung phones get.
Boy Genius Report has a source at Verizon, and here’s another tasty bit: that “ticker” display (the second small screen under the four standard Android buttons) is also SAMOLED, and will have push displays of messaging notifications. Plus your local time and weather as long as you have the phone on.
Two more juicy items about that small screen: the phone has a sensor that tells it’s been gripped, which then lights up the little screen while saving battery by keeping the big one dark. And… the little screen also has the touch sensors. Flick left or right to scroll through your notifications. Tap an update you want to see and the main screen will show it to you.
Verizon’s been showing Android a lot of love, so have a nice look at these great photos from Boy Genius Report. We’ll be on the lookout to see if Verizon blinged the Continuum with Bing (the Fascinate, Verizon’s other Galaxy S smartphone, got Bingified).
