Well you heard it right, Samsung has dropped their source code for the Fascinate. Gotta love this open source Android platform. Even though they have stripped all the proprietary goodies from the source it is still a solid system to build on.
The more big companies drop different flavors of the Android operating system into the open source pool the more custom devs can get their smarty brains on it and pump out interesting new variations that are built on widely popular and trusted brands, the richer the community will be. So if you are an established ROM developer or are wanting to get into it then head over to the Samsung open source release center (apparently ich-i500 is the particular one to go for) and pick up the source.
