November 3rd. That is the date T-Mobile stores will begin selling the ‘Comet’. It’s not going to get the attention Halley’s Comet would, but with a new device being released on the Android OS every couple of minutes now, a phone like this doesn’t deserve it!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news (ok that’s a lie, i love it) but I am completely at a loss of words for how UN-impressed I am with this phone based on the specs we see. Unless someone is playing a sick joke, why would we want this phone? Let’s go through this line by line and find out whether you should spend your hard-earned dinero (we have switched to pesos in the US now right?) on this Phone, or save it for a 4th meal from Taco Bell after a night out.
Froyo 2.2: I freaking hope so! We should all expect this now. No device should ship with an outdated OS in this day in age.
2.8 Inch Capacitive Display: “Eh”.. that’s about my entire reaction. Could be better, but it falls in line with the rest of the specs we find for this phone.
320×240 Resolution: REALLY? I sure hope they aren’t hoping on anyone liking the way things look on their phone! For comparison sake, the HTC Incredible has a resolution of 800×480.
528 MHz Processor: OK, at this point I give up. With most new phones being shipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon or better processor, why would anyone want this?
Last but not.. actually, it is least. 3.0 Mega Pixel Camera. Most of us use our Phones as our primary and only camera now. Why in the world would I want a freaking camera with the same specs as my 4-year-old daughter’s Digital Barbie Camera has for 12.99?
I’m a huge Android fan. I love the fact Android devices are popping up every day. This however is a disappointment. I understand they might be targeting new smart phone users and want to keep the price low, but that’s no excuse for selling a pile of crap and slapping an Android label on it!
We as end-users have the right to have our technology move forward, not backwards. Do us all a favor and skip this phone in favor of something a little more, oh i don’t know, 21st CENTURY!
