Moto i1 coming to TELUS' Mike Network on 10/12

TELUS now has an iDEN phone that does Android.  The Motorola i1 is a PTT (Push To Talk) phone that runs Android 1.5 (Cupcake).  That’s about as old an OS as you can get and still be Android.  And now it’s coming to TELUS’ Mike Network.  Supposedly this phone, that can also work as a walkie-talkie, will be launching for $299.99.

Specs, yes we have specs!  This is a 3.1 inch touchscreen (320 x 480 display resolution) phone with a 5 megapixel camera, complete with LED flash and 4x digital zoom.  In addition, it has Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g, GPS, and a 2.5 mm headset jack.  It has a 1400 mAh lithium-ion battery, up to 260 MB of internal memory, and can add up to 32 GB storage via its microSD card slot.  The phone itself is ruggedized to military specifications: (Military Spec 810F certified for blowing rain, dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, low pressure, salt fog, humidity and solar radiation.)

The Push To Talk feature uses Motorola’s iDEN network on 800 and 900 Mhz bands.
