Koodo Mobile launched their discount wireless service in March of 2008. Since then they have been focused on being “Canada’s decidedly different, pay for what you need wireless company.” Out of the gate, their top priority has been rate plans. Their competition has the power of high-end devices such as the iPhone on Virgin and Fido’s recently launched Acer Liquid E. Koodo will still keep their famed rate plans but will start to broaden their focus to include handsets to keep up with the mobile market’s trend of releasing additional data devices, to be more exact, Android devices.
Rumor has it that Android devices will start to pop up on Koodo Mobile. This is all still internal speculation and there is still quite a bit to figure out. We know that TELUS owns Koodo, so that means there are a few devices Koodo has to choose from: HTC Desire, Motorola Milestone, LG Shine Plus, Motorola Backflip, Motorola Charm and Samsung’s Galaxy Apollo.
Given the wireless company’s discount niche, the Charm, Apollo or Backflip would be a wise approach, especially for first time Android users, but who wouldn’t be stoked to see the Desire show up here?
