Verizon Offering Moto DROID Pro for $299 on Contract?

A Verizon Wireless test site shows the upcoming Motorola DROID Pro selling for a Pro price: $299 with a two-year contract, and $499 without.  If the world-roaming smartphone sells without a rebate, that would make it the most expensive Android device in the US.  Samsung’s Epic 4G (running on Sprint) retails for $250 on contract.  That’s a lot for a wanna-be World BlackBerry that speaks native Android.  Maybe Big Red figures a business phone doesn’t need a rebate since the user isn’t the one paying for it.

The DROID Pro is expected to launch on November 11th, along with the DROID 2 Global and the HTC Merge, but I would expect the Verizon website will have pricing up in advance of that.  Right now the test site is disavowing knowledge of the Pro, while VZW’s usual site hasn’t heard of it either.
