OK, as if Samsung hasn’t hit us with some pretty amazing stuff this year (Galaxy S line, Galaxy Tab, and Nexus S rumors) here are a few bits of info on their next super-phone. This no-name device is to be released with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with all the Cloud-based and Google Mobile goodness it brings. A 8MP camera with flash brings up the rear with the ability to record HD video up to 1080P. This crisp video will be displayed on a 4.3 inch sAMOLED2 display. An unnamed 1.2GHz processor will be at the heart of this bad boy. 14.4 Mbps HSDPA, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n, GPS, and 16 GB of internal storage rounds out this super sweet device. All this and the fact that it looks super thin and gorgeous has me pretty excited. February would suggest maybe an announcement or release at MWC. This very well could be where my tax return goes.

Update: This leak is looking a little fishy. Read on.
AndroidPolice ran a takedown of the Engadget piece saying the graphics above seem poorly done and have a lot of inconsistencies. Their image below summarizes their arguments:
- Google icons in slide above, top left, don’t match the icons on the phone, bottom row.
- Display on phone doesn’t match the screen; big blank area on bottom and while phone is angled, display is straight-on.
- Phone looks a lot like an iPhone, complete with the divided metal band that caused Antennagate.
- Taskbar also looks like an iPhone 4’s.
- Side of phone is shiny metal in sideways view and matte metal in other views.
But wait, there’s more!
- DNLA? Really? I thought it was DLNA. Someone not paying attention.
- Ditto: “Clouding Services”
- Is the device’s sceen a 4.3 or 4.5 inch? Because the slide atop this article says it’s both.
- SAMOLED 2? Really? Don’t you think they’d make a bigger deal about this?
- Commenters on several sites covering this story say the interface on that phone’s screen is actually MIUI, used in China.
- Endgadget has updated their article and says the phone in the picture is actually an older Apiotek VoIP phone.
- Why is this phone leaking when the NEXUS S leaks were all over the news? Is this a distraction?
Their conclusion: the phone might not be fake but these slides are so poorly done they never should have been shown to anyone, let alone leaked.
