One could easily argue that the big three social networking sites today are: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Android users have been enjoying Facebook and Twitter apps for awhile now, but LinkedIn has been curiously absent from the party. Until now, that is.
LinkedIn has just announced an Android app for their popular networking site. This app is currently in beta and is only available through LinkedIn’s mobile site. The company is also asking for user input to inform them of any bugs and suggestions on how to make the app better.
Early reports say that the app isn’t quite up to snuff when compared to the iPhone version, but this is to be expected from a project that isn’t quite ready for full release.
With LinkedIn, users can:
- Get instant updates from LinkedIn colleagues
- Make new connections based on common interests
- Respond to invitations to groups or other professional contacts
The app requires Android 2.1 or higher, which should cover the majority of users.
