Newest photos give a a personal look at Motorola’s first Android Tablet. This is a 10 inch device with front-facing camera, rear-facing camera with flash, micro-USB port, HDMI port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and YES, the Verizon Wireless logo.
A nice accessory is possible by looking at the bottom of one photo, which may show two contact points for a dock. The tablet is just perfect for usage as a media player, desktop calendar, and more in the upright position. As we know, many other Motorola DROID models have a desktop dock.
Now for the great inside specs; it’s rumored to have a 1 GHz Tegra 2 T20 processor, 32 GB of storage, 10 inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution, 512 MB of RAM, and microSD card expansion up to 32 GB. That is quite a package driving this Tablet! This will launch sometime next year powered by Android Honeycomb version 3.0 of the OS). The connectivity is still very much a mystery, but we assume WiFi, a strong possibility of LTE, and may also include a media tie-in to Verizon’s FIOS cable service.
Possible product names include, Stingray, Everest or Trygon, we are still not sure which will receive final approval as the retail name. Still unknown is if the tablet will launch with the Verizon DROID branding or more along the lines of the Motorola Devour. DROID seems the likely choice considering the power and size of this tablet. So, now imagine you enter a Verizon store ready to purchase a Tablet. Motorola’s new Android Tablet is there, with all the features we expect from a DROID, and a comparable price to the Galaxy Tab and the iPad. Which would you want to rush home with to get your hands on right away?
