New Android Launcher Brings 30 Screens (and more) To The Home Replacement Party

One of the great aspects of running Android is that if you’re not happy with the skin your carrier lays over top of the OS (I’m looking at you Motoblur) you can change the launcher to create virtually whatever look and features you want.

There are plenty of home replacement apps available, but the big two are ADW and Launcher Pro. However, there’s a new guy who’s shown up at the door to the party and he’s brought a number of ideas and features that might make him the top dog in home screen replacement.

His name is GO Launcher.

GO Launcher offers some unique features such as the pop up menu when you long press an icon. This menu gives you the options to replace the icon, rename the icon, delete the icon or uninstall the app, which is a more intuitive way of accomplishing these tasks. But probably the most notable feature is the ability to have up to 30 home screens. That’s room for A LOT of widgets.

From the developer, GO Dev Team, GO Launcher offers:

  • Extremely smooth scrolling
  • Convenient icon pop-menu
  • Gesture supported
  • Useful app drawer to uninstall apps and kill tasks
  • Removable screen previews (Up to 30 screens

GO Launcher is still very new and is sure to have some bugs and rough spots, but the developer seems committed to regular updating, and this should help the app reach its full potential.

GO Launcher is currently available for Android 2.1 or higher and is available for free in the Android Market or by hitting up AppBrain.
