Android phone modding has been roaming around for some time now. And we have been taught of the risk, flashing or installing custom ROMs for your android device relieves it from its warranty. The solution of hacker Backup and recovery for the stock. And one of the known backup and recovery mod is ClockworkMod Recovery.
After some time, Koush has given us the ClockworkMod Recovery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This allows us to successfully install custom ROMs, create and restore backups to and for the TAB.
For some tips. As with most Galaxy S devices, the stock recovery is not replaced but rather loaded as an update.zip when you reboot.
This is an explanation from Koush:
“The recovery is packaged as an update.zip that you run from a modified STOCK recovery. The update.zip unpacks Clockwork Recovery onto the ramdisk and restarts recovery. When you reboot, it reverts back to the original stock recovery. So, you will need to keep the recovery on the root of your SD card as an update.zip, and apply the zip every time you want to start Clockwork. However, ROM Manager handles this all pretty seamlessly for you.”
Note: Only the T-mobile kernel is available for now.
