It should come as no surprise that Samsung would join the already packed line-up of manufacturers clamoring to get their LTE devices ready for Verizon. Motorola, LG, and HTC have all already been rumored to have their 4G devices in the pipeline for release in the coming months. It is interesting to note that this device is still rumored to ship with Froyo, now that Gingerbread has already been released this does not seem to be too good of a proposition. However, it does fit Samsung’s timetable of being a whole version behind compared to most manufacturers, as is the case with the Galaxy S line.
Engadget Reports
Gizmodo has scored an alleged shot of said phone, showing Froyo (Android 2.2.1, to be specific) along with a front-facing camera and a model number of SCH-i520; it’s said to feature TouchWiz (as most non-Nexus S Android phones from Samsung tend to do) and, fortunately, lacks the Bing integration that Verizon’s been pushing on its low- and midrange smartphones lately.
