Canadian telecom company Bell is introducing a new Android smartphone for anyone looking to spend a little less cash. The LG Optimus Chic is expected to be released January 14th. The device will be available with a no contract retail price listed at $249.95. Not too bad for anyone new to Android. Some of those no contract prices seem a little too steep to even consider. As for contract pricing, nothing official has been released, so your guess is as good as mine.
The specs for the Optimus Chic have it running Android 2.2 OS (Froyo), a 3.2-inch touchscreen (320 x 480 resolution), 5 megapixel camera with video capabilities, 3.5 mm audio jack, WiFi, 600 MHz processor, DLNA support, and a 2 GB microSDcard (up to 32 GB). The Chic can also be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot, and comes preloaded with ThinkFree Office for Microsoft Office document editing, along with all your usual Andriod bells and whistles.
