With a major lack of new releases at CES for Sprint, the carrier better hope that their most recent enigma of an announcement, featuring illusionist David Blaine, is well worth it. They did just release the HTC Evo Shift 4G, and while that is all great, what about pushing the boundaries, where is the innovation? According to the latest ad from Sprint, we have an “industry first” coming our way on February 7th, courtesy of David Blaine. I’ve seen the guy on TV before, I think he just has extreme patience.
So the big question is what will Blaine and Sprint be bringing to the table that could make “the impossible possible”? Thanks to a process of elimination from site AndroidandMe, we now could be a little closer to figuring out what might be heading our way. The strong belief right now is that we will be officially introduced to an HTC 4G Android smart phone, with a 3D display. Sprint would definitely be making up for the lack of magic at CES if this was the case. There have already been rumors about glasses-free 3D devices appearing later in the year, with several models already popping up in Japan. How great would it be to play 3D games, or watch a movie in 3D right on your Android device.
The official announcement on Feb. 7th could go in a completely different direction, but there’s nothing wrong with speculation. AndroidandMe is kicking around a name for what we might see, the HTC Illusion, which sounds great. Keeping with the magic theme, I’ll go ahead and throw my idea into the mix, the HTC Prestige! We’ll see what happens on the 7th.
