Samsung Announces Wi-Fi Only Galaxy Tablet

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is one hot device that features a 1024 x 600 capacitive screen, a 1 GHz processor, Android 2.2, full Adobe Flash support, dual cameras and support for 32 GB of storage. And until now, you could only get the tablet with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. And although it’s proved to be popular wth consumers, many have been hoping for a Wi-Fi only version.

That wait is now over.

Samsung announced at CES that they will be releasing a Wi-Fi only version of their popular Android tablet, which is great news for consumers who don’t want to mess with having to add a data plan.

Samsung says that the device will be available in the first quarter of 2011, but so far, no price point has been set. Although with prices of the Galaxy Tab falling, it seems reasonable to think that it will affordable enough to attract people who might otherwise be purchasing a budget tablet.
