Samsung's tri-fold phone leak reveals potential camera system

As usual, Samsung will launch the next generation of Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold devices this year. However, in addition to the main models that we already know, the company could add more members to its catalog of foldable phones. One could be the affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE, while the other could be the first tri-fold handset from the firm. A new leak has revealed key details about the cameras of Samsung’s tri-fold Galaxy phone.

PandaFlash has been very active lately sharing details about upgrading Samsung devices. This time, the tipster revealed the resolution of the cameras that the tri-fold Galaxy device could equip. However, it’s noteworthy that the specs correspond to an internal prototype of the product. So, there could be differences in the unit that reaches the stores.

Samsung’s first tri-fold phone may not have the company’s most powerful cameras

According to the post, the phone features a rear camera system consisting of 200 MP (main) + 12 MP (ultrawide) + 10 MP (telephoto) sensors. It is possible that this is a combination of the main sensor of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the secondary sensors of the vanilla and Plus variants. However, we cannot be 100% sure as there are no more specific details (model, size, and aperture mainly).

The post adds that the device is equipped with a 10 MP front camera in the punch hole of its external display. On the other hand, the internal display hides a 4 MP front camera sensor. Again, we are talking about a prototype, so things in the final product could be different. However, it is interesting to know the camera sensor combinations that Samsung is testing for the handset.

S Pen support is not yet decided

It seems that Samsung has not yet decided regarding the S Pen support on its tri-fold device. A later post from the tipster says that the prototype “doesn’t have an (EMR) Digitizer.” However, “Samsung is reportedly testing the S-Pen on the Tri-Fold display internally,” they added.

This wouldn’t be the first Samsung foldable to completely lose S Pen support. The company has already removed it from the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Meanwhile, there appear to be plans to downgrade the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s S Pen. In related news, Huawei brought its tri-fold smartphone to the global market before Samsung.
