Last week, the Motorola Atrix 4G and all its accessories had their pricing officially announced. A lot of people were apprehensive about this pricing and have posted their thoughts and feelings all over the internet, and they has not been good. So, AT&T’s mobile products VP, Mike Woodward, has come out with statements regarding the matter, saying the laptop dock isn’t that expensive compared to other tablets given its features. He also said:
“With all the integration between the phone and the dock, you can do more on an Atrix than you can on a netbook. Other devices that do this just give you a ‘mirror mode.'”
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but you can get a pretty good desktop computer for around $499, a decent laptop for around $499, an iPad for $499, and a netbook for around $299 (all of which you don’t need any sort of contract for a monthly plan). All of these can do more things than the laptop dock for Atrix, as the dock can only view media and use its built in Firefox browser.
So we’re curious as to how this can do more things than any of the similar or lower priced items its comparable to. What are your thoughts on this statement? Any feelings changing towards AT&T and their pricing schemes?
