The Acer Liquid Metal got a hands-on treatment at Mobile World Congress by the people over at Phandroid. This phone runs Android OS 2.2 (Froyo), and does not have anything unique about the software or specs, but a new design idea is what makes it unique.
To begin with, the phone is made mostly of aluminum, and all comes together to create a really beautifully designed handset. The unique part is on top of the device there are 3 separate LED notifications. One indicator is for messages, one is for battery life, and one is for missed calls. There may also an additional LED light on the front of the device like many other phones.
Anyone like the idea of the 3 separate LEDs? It would be nice if you could customize them and make (for instance) the missed call LED be used for email alerts.
