A screenshot sent to DroidLife has bloggers questioning whether the Motorola Droid 2 could receive an OTA update in the near future. It is still uncertain as to whether or not the anonymous source downloaded the update, but 42.5MB makes you wonder just how big of an update this could be. What is Verizon up to?
Has Gingerbread finally been released to the public? It seems odd that Google would start with a Droid 2, but then again Motorola Droid has been one of the few phones to be updated regularly whenever a new OS was announced. Perhaps Droid 2 is now carrying the torch?
One thing for certain is that “Delta Package” and 34.0.113 don’t follow the traditional naming of Android OTA updates. For now, we’ll have to play the waiting game. I’d sure like to see what “View release notes” links to though.
