Foursquare is officially up to version 3.0, bringing along some very helpful features. The new design allows for customers and business to get more out of every check-in. Not sure where to check in, there’s even a new feature for that.

History of Check-ins

2.5 years ago, no one thought a company allowing me to keep track of where they’ve been on a mobile platform would really take off, but it has. With 7.5 million users and over 500 Million check-ins, Foursquare is popular beyond all belief.

New Features

There is a new user interface for version 3.0, which ultimately looks cleaner than the last. An explore tab shows itself on the new version, allowing users to discover places around them to check-in and try. And even businesses are getting in on the fun, where they are not able to check who is checking in to their location. This will allow for businesses to keep track of who visits each day. Certainly, the best place to try out these new features is at SXSW, where Foursquare is ultimately unveiling their new application.
