Three Leaks their UK Phone Lineup for Spring/Summer
It’s like Christmas! The guys over at Engadgetwere earlier given Three’s entire spring/summer lineup of phones which revealed a fair few Android release dates. Three is the nickname for UK carrier Hutchison 3G UK.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini Discovered
Of course the biggest reveal was the Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini. Unlike the Galaxy Mini, which was a budget companion phone to the original Galaxy lineup, the S2 Mini seems to be being placed as a smaller version of the Galaxy S II but equally as high end.
The phone itself will pack a 1.4 GHz processor much like the Palm Pre 3, a 3.7 inch WVGA touchscreen (not so mini!), 5 MP rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing camera, and Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) running the show (I think we can safely assume TouchWiz will be present as well). The slide itself did not reveal what onboard memory will be present or if the screen technology is Super AMOLED, but now we know such a phone exists we should expect more leaks about the device before its planned April launch.
HTC Flyer Tablet Release Date
The other exciting reveal was the release date of the HTC Flyer, their 7 inch tablet running Gingerbread (with Sense tablet optimizations). With a 1.5 GHz processor, 32 GB of storage plus a microSD slot for 32 GB of additional storage (64 GB in total), a 5 MP rear-facing camera, 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB RAM, a 1024 x 600 resolution screen and HTC’s usually fantastic build quality this certainly has the potential to be popular (especially if it can be hacked/rooted as well).
Due to be released in May is this too late an introduction? With future tablets primarily being Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) based, will this tablet be able to stand out next to them or be a case of missing the boat (much like the Dell Streak 7 did)?
Any Other Three Goodies?
