Verizon Branded Xperia Play Revealed, Playstation Games For Everyone!

At the Verizon Wireless Media Event Earlier Tonight it seems that the people their got a quite the delight (but not really a surprise). Yes the Xperia Play (aka Playstation Phone) was in attendance for the curious attendees to get their hands on and play. It only makes sense for Sony to put the Xperia Play on as many networks as possible if they want to compete with Apple for the mobile gaming space.

No word has been given on a release date but should as soon as possible be better? With the same 1 GHz Snapdragon processor as the MyTouch 4G and 512 MB of RAM it is hardly at the cutting edge of hardware currently occupied by the Atrix’s and Optimus 2X’s of this world. Yet on the other hand with dedicated gaming controls, a 4in 854 x 480 touchscreen and access to some quality in-depth Playstation 1 titles (as well as new Android Market games like Dungeon Defenders) it could still prove to be the gaming phone to have regardless of what is under the hood.
