Sprint gets the ball rolling on carrier billing

Sprint has finally gotten on the ball and released carrier billing for the Android Market. What this means for Android users on Sprint is that you will be able to purchase Android apps on the Market and charge them to your phone bill. As of April 14th this option is supposed to be made available to all Sprint customers but I can confirm to you that as of the writing of this article the payment option has yet to appear on the market.

Sprint and Android cozy up

This should be a win for Sprint and seems to be another step toward a tight partnership with Google. This will also make it a lot easier for folks to purchase apps without the necessity of a credit card. I, being a Sprint customer, love this idea and can’t wait for the option to come available. Sprint seems to be getting more and more Android friendly while its competitors practices seem to be going in a direction that makes the platform less open. With the Nexus S 4G, full integration with Google Voice, and now carrier billing, Sprint is getting real cozy with Android and that my friends, is a great thing. What do you think?
