Is Google Working on a Game Center like on iOS?

Rumor has it that Google is looking to create a Social Gaming Application for Android devices. Much like Apple’s Game Center for iOS, it would include the same features including achievements and a friends list, but it also would introduce new ones. These include messaging between players and a message board within each game.

What Would an Android Game Client Look Like?  Something Like This?

Photo’d above is a rumored “Game Client” option which is said to be “not ready for primetime.” For now, the project is nothing but a rumor, but it would definitely be a welcomed addition to the Android platform if it was to come to fruition.
