Samsung Galaxy Beam
The Samsung Galaxy Beam was introduced at this years Mobile World Congress and although it doesn’t feature a quad core SoC or even run Ice Cream sandwich it made a splash because of its ability to double as a projector device. I know some of you are thinking why on earth would you want a projector in your phone, but for some this is feature could prove a valuable asset. the projector located at the top of the device uses a 15-lumen bulb and can shoot a 640×480 picture at up to 50″ diagonally across.
The phone itself will feature a 4″ 800×480 resolution AMOLED display, a dual core 1Ghz SoC, and a 5MP rear camera. Sadly it is being released with Android 2.3.6 with TouchWiz. Besides the projector the specs of the Galaxy Beam are rather run of the mill making it a little more than a one trick pony. However if you love that pony the projector in this case then this just might be your device. I can see myself projecting pictures or movies I’ve shot maybe even a PowerPoint or two on the device.
