Motorola is hoping to make a hit with their latest smartphone, the RAZR V XT889 which is coming to China. Recently, China regulators were the last to approve the Google-Motorola merger and is great news for both companies as they’ve got a strong portfolio of smartphones, tablets, and other hardware, but also thousands of patents which are sure to help Google better defend Android and (maybe) other manufacturers from the onslaught of lawsuits coming from Apple.
The new RAZR which will be available to China Telecom customers, seems to be very similar hardware as the variant we’re familiar with, but happens to feature a different design which is more rounded and wrapped in Kevlar fiber. On the front of the phone, there’s two mesh grills that go across the entire width of the phone, the one at the top obviously for an earpiece and the one at the bottom which holds the microphone maybe?
Comes with a 4.3 inch screen which we would suspect to be Super AMOLED, 8 megapixel camera, 3G, and will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. That’s the only details at the moment, however, one can expect a 1.2GHZ dual core processor, 1GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The current Razr that most are familiar with, still hasn’t got Android 4.0 yet, but the release of this phone shows that it will and earlier today, Verizon sent a text to customers letting them know they’d be getting the upgrade.
