Featured: Don't Worry UK, Google Nexus 7 Tablet Heading Your Way July 20th

Yesterday at Google I/O, Google announced the Nexus 7 tablet, a highly anticipated and buzzed about product. While they talked about all the specs and how it can be pre-ordered now and so on, they failed to mention when it would be making it’s way overseas.

Fortunately, those in the UK can expect the tablet around the same time frame as those here in the states. Multiple retailers such as PC World, eBuyer, Comet, Dixons, and Carphone Warehouse, are some that were said to have the tablet shipped to them July 20th. Customers can expect them to be available in stores come July 27th. The only model that’s said to be available is the 16GB version as Google is said to only be selling the 8GB version from the Play Store.

It’ll run you £199. If you pre-order, there’s a chance that you could actually get the Nexus 7 before July 27th depending on how long it takes to get to stores. Here’s a quick recap of all the specs:

  • 7 inch HD display at 1280—800 resolution (216 ppi)
  • Scratch proof and shatter proof Corning Gorilla Glass
  • 1.3GHZ Quad Core Tegra 3 processor
  • 8 or 16GB of internal storage
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera
  • NFC and Bluetooth
  • 4,325mAh battery which claims to offer up to 8 hours of active use
