Android 4.1 Jellybean has been talked about for a few months now, some even saying that the next version of Android would be 5.0, though looks like people got a bit too far ahead of themselves. Because of this release, the Play Store is said be getting an update, a bit of a redesign for the new version. Google I/O is literally just a couple days away at the time of writing this and when Jellybean will be announced and debuted to the Android universe.
Thanks to Google’s own social network, Google+, a user by the name of Loranz Yousif showed a first glimpse of what the new redesign will look like. At the very top of the home screen, there is now a scrolling bar from left to right of popular applications as well as a scrollable list of What’s Hot applications at the bottom. Before the update to the Play Store, the Android Market had this similar kind of setup.
There were some good things from the Android Market that were pretty much removed from the upgrade to the Play Store. It’s good to see Google implementing some of those features this time around as it will hopefully enhance the user experience and allow users to better find and see apps that they could potentially be interested in. At the end of the day, this is a rumor so we don’t want to jump to too many conclusions. Again, Google I/O starts the 27th so we’ll find out more then.
