Google I/O 2012 is just a week away and the official app has finally hit the Play Store. Going to the conference? You can download it here for free of course. For those not familiar, Google I/O is an annual developer focused conference held by none another than Google in San Francisco. This year it’s taking place from June 27th-29th. The conference hasn’t always been around, just starting in 2008 which makes this their fourth year.
It features sessions based around building web, mobile, and enterprise applications with technologies such as Android, Chrome, Chrome OS, Google APIs, Google Web Toolkit, App Engine, and more. Think of it as a WWDC, but all about Google. One thing that’s been said to be announced this year is the Nexus tablet, a wildly speculated 7 inch tablet that features a quad core processor and to be priced at $199 which could easily make its mark as the best selling 7 inch tablet in months to come.

It’s not surprising to see the Google+ integration as, well, is Google’s very own social network. Last year, attendees received a free 10 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab. This year who knows what to expect, but it wouldn’t be far-fetched to see the Nexus tablet being handed out.
