Samsung is having quite the year, having debuted and selling the Galaxy S III which is by far one of the most buzzed about Android smartphones this year. The screen on the current Galaxy Note, while no slouch, clocks in at 5.3 inches. However, that’s said to be increased ever so slightly to 5.5 inches in the next evolution of the smartphone/tablet hybrid. So the display will be a little bit larger, however, the width is narrowed.
The launch date was originally set for sometime in October, but according to a new rumor, the Galaxy Note II will launch a month earlier in September. There could be a few reasons why, but one is that Samsung wants to get a head up on Apple who is supposed to be launching the iPhone 5 in October.
Now, the Galaxy Note 2 is no iPhone killer or anything like that, it’s in a league of it’s own, though with the success of the previous generation, it could do just as well as its younger sibling, if not better.
Earlier in the month, we mentioned that the device may potentially feature a flexible OLED screen. That hasn’t been confirmed, but if it happens, that’ll be great news for customers who will have a much less destructible screen.
