The Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which feels more like a full sentence than an actual name, has been rumored for months, and we’ve known it will be a phone much like the HTC One S, but the disappointing part about it is that although it arrives several months later, it actually comes underpowered compared to its One series brethren at other carriers.
For example it only has a dual core 1.2 Ghz S4 processor, which is the underclocked version of the dual core 1.5 Ghz chip inside the One X and One S, and it also comes with only 8 GB of storage, when the other versions start at 16 GB, even the ones with LTE, like with AT&T’s HTC One X. While the display is only 4″, so the pixel per inch density is still pretty high at 275 PPI, it still can’t show as much as an HD display can, because less content fits in that qHD resolution.
Other specs include:
- 8 MP camera
- 1 GB of RAM
- LED flash
- DLNA
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- LTE
- 1700 mAh battery
Considering all of its specs, I’d say the phone could’ve been sold for less. There’s also the Galaxy Nexus available at Verizon for the same price, and although the CPU is a little weaker, you’ll be able to get the latest version of Android, JellyBean, very soon. Plus, you get Google’s stock Android, instead of HTC’s skinned version of Android 4.0.
