HTC and their One X is proving to be a very viable quad core powered smartphone, getting a lot of buzz and press, not to mention is getting great reviews. Despite the smartphone just recently launching, it appears that HTC is actually in the process of working on another smartphone powered by the same Tegra 3 processor, just this time a little bit faster.
While it’s hard to say if it will for sure be the sequel to the One X, it’s leaning towards that and makes more sense from a product line perspective. GLBenchmark posted data on their site relating to the PM63100 which has the codename “evitareul”. Worth noting that the codename which HTC used for the One XL is actually “Evita”. So “evitareul” could very likely be Evitare UL.
When it comes to the specs of the phone, details are rather slim, but the PM63100 has a 720p display, not sure what size yet, and a 1.7GHZ Tegra 3 quad-core processor which is slightly faster than the Tegra 3 for the One X which is 1.5GHZ. The phone is also currently running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, however, considering that Google released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean source code a couple days ago to manufacturers, this smartphone could come with Jelly Bean instead.
If you’re maybe excited to get your hands on this, chances are it won’t be out anytime soon. Again, the HTC One X launched just recently and it wouldn’t make sense to launch another rather similar device in such a short time frame.
