The Nexus 7 is still fairly new with everyone who pre-ordered already receiving their quad core 7 inch tablet. There is truly no other tablet like it on the market and the reviews so far, aside from some various hardware issues which are to be expected for the first generation of a product, are pretty good.
Some developers for Android are benefiting from the new tablet, one of those developers being Mobelux who is the creator behind Instapaper, an app that allows you to save web pages for reading later. It’s a great app for tablets, especially those that have only Wifi such as the Nexus 7, and doubles as a book of sorts when you’re away from an Internet connection.
Since the launch of the Nexus 7 tablet, Instapaper has seen a rather large 600 percent increase in downloads/purchases. If you go to their page on the Google Play Store, you can see the graph on the right hand side which clearly shows a large spike. While the app hasn’t seen nearly as much success as competitor Pocket which was formerly known as Read It Later, five thousand to ten thousand downloads, if not even more since the increase, isn’t bad for an app that is available for $2.99.
There’s plenty of developers who would love those kinds of numbers. Also to add to Instapaper’s increase could very likely be the $25 Play Store credit that Nexus 7 customers get.
