That’s right, the update to the latest and greatest is now being rolled out across a number of different carriers. Whether or not the update gets pulled by the carriers at any point is something we’ll find out in time. With the release of an OTA update comes binaries for then device that allow devs such as the CyanogenMod team to deliver custom ROMs such as CM10 with proper drivers. When the Kernel source for this update hits, expect custom kernels to be rolling out thick and fast as well. If you still haven’t received the update yet and you don’t to wait or mess with flashing a custom ROM then here is a trick that could well trigger the update for you.

  • Go to Apps and sort by All
  • Find “Google-Service-Framework”
  • Delete Data and then Force Stop
  • Go to the Homescreen
  • Access System Settings
  • Head to System Updates and Search for New
  • If this hasn’t worked then try the process again a little later on
