Samsung’s newest flagship device, the Galaxy S III has been very popular as of late. Being the first device in quite a while to almost simultaneously launch on all of the major carriers in the US, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and even regional carrier US Cellular. Over the weekend, Samsung Mobile’s Head JK Shin has reportedly told the Korean press that his company has now sold 10 million Galaxy S III’s in just 2 months.
Can any of us really say we are surprised? After all Samsung is the top phone manufacturer and the Galaxy S II was such a hit. With the additions in the software and hardware departments on the Galaxy S III, including the 2GB of RAM and quad-core processor and software improvements like S Beam and S Voice, we all knew it would be a top seller. In comparison it took the Galaxy S II almost five months to sell 10 million handsets. So it looks like the Galaxy S III will be breaking records in the sales area.
With the expected announcement of the Galaxy Note II coming next month, we’re expecting a very big year in terms of sales from Samsung, especially when looking at how successful the original Note was even before it landed in the US on AT&T and soon on T-Mobile.
