Featured: Nexus 7 Is Selling Out Everywhere

I hope you’ve already ordered your own Nexus 7 because if you didn’t you might not get a chance to get one again until next month. Why? Because it seems the Nexus 7 is flying off the shelves from the retail stores, and Google can only ship as many as were pre-ordered from their Play Store.

GameStop have said that they’ve already run through their first two allocations of the tablet. Sam’s Club, the warehouse chain owned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc , and Staples have already listed the device as out of stock, in their stores. For now, only Office Depot still has it for sale.

In a way this running out of stock is good news, because it means the Nexus 7 is a very popular device, but on the other hand this also means Google is wasting valuable weeks, when they could be selling millions more of these devices. Amazon is also going to announce the Kindle Fire 2 at the end of this month, so that might end up convincing at least some people to get that instead – if it’s at least as good as Nexus 7.

Then we also have rumors about the iPad Mini, which is supposed to launch in September or so, and that might make some people wait on it, too, if it’s too close to the launch of the iPad Mini. This is why Google and Asus need to hurry up and increase the production of Nexus 7, while the buzz is still big around this device, and there aren’t too many worthy alternatives out there.
