Featured: Android Powered iPhone 5 Clone Debuts Ahead of Apple's Upcoming Launch

China is where our smartphones, tablets, and other electronics are made, and it’s also where a lot of knock offs come from. There’s really nothing, as long as it’s popular, that these various bootleggers won’t copy and create. One of those things is the iPhone 5.

All of this talk about Samsung being taken to court over infringing patents and copying the design of the iPhone and iPad and losing in the process, apparently doesn’t matter to those wanting to make a quick buck or two. Especially in China, Apple products are held with very high regard and are as much of a fashion statement as they are here in the states.

Apparently, an iPhone 5 clone has made some waves online and will, as far as we know, soon be offered for sale. It takes after the two tone design that has been seen in some leaked photos and aside from the details on the back and the thickness, is very convincing. Called the Goophone i5 which is a funny name in of itself, it will possibly feature a dual-core or better processor, 1GB RAM, 5 or 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, decent front-facing camera, and so on.

This isn’t the first time that the same people behind the “Goophone” have tried copying Apple. The Goophone Y5 copied the iPhone 4S, at least from a design perspective. The specs were rather lacking from a single core processor to 5 megapixel camera.
