Featured: Huawei Debuts 7 Inch Mid-Range Tablet

When it comes to 7 inch Android tablets, there’s nothing as awesome as the Nexus 7 which features a 1280×800 display and quad-core Tegra 3 which will power through just about anything, including the best games available in the Play Store. With IFA 2012 going on, tech manufacturers are having an announcement hayday with new tablets, smartphones, laptops, and a heck of a lot more.

Huawei introduced a new mid-range 7 inch tablet, the MediaPad 7 Lite. It doesn’t pack as much power as some other tablets out there, but will hopefully come in at a great price.

  • 7 inch 1024 x 600 IPS display
  • 1.2GHZ Cortex A8 single core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage with microSD card slot up to 32GB
  • 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera
  • WiFi b/g/n, 3G
  • 4100mAh battery
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

The MediaPad 7 lite has already started shipping to China, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, China, and Taiwan. Indonesia and Malaysia will get it come September. They haven’t announced any pricing yet, but since it’s a mid-range tablet, we’d expect a mid-range price. Huawei also announced the MediaPad 10 FHD which packs a bit more punch and can be transformed into an ultrabook with an additional dock. Not only that, but it also has 150Mbps LTE compatibility.
