Earlier this month we looked at the official Jelly Bean OS leak for the International variant of the Galaxy S3. The users of the other Galaxy S3 variants here in US were left with just hope and wait. However, that wait will soon be over now as there are reports claiming that Official Jelly Bean update for the T-Mobile’s Galaxy S3 has been leaked and available for download at XDA Forums.
The best thing about the Galaxy S3 is that Samsung has kept it similar across all the Carriers so rolling out updates will be not much of a hassle for the company. This leak looks almost similar to the earlier International one. According to reports this update is still in testing phase, although it seems fairly stable with no bugs reported so far. This update is rumored (as of now) to hit at the end of this month. Some Changes and Goodies include.
- Access Google Now from Recent apps screen
- S-Voice settings in the system settings menu
- Jellybean clock in drop down status bar/notification area
- 5 app docks on the lockscreen
- 2 different types of homescreens – basic and easy.
- New t-mobile bloatware
If you are feeling a bit adventurous then head over to XDA Forums and grab the flashable zip package for the update. Keep in mind that you’ll need the latest stock T-Mobile Rom running on your Galaxy S3 to flash this update. Just download the package and flash it via recovery, some people have even reported that it keeps root but that’s not confirmed. (We are not responsible for any damage that might occur to your device due to flashing, so do it at your own risk. Don’t forget to make a back-up of everything just in case)
