Recently, Acer got into hot water with Google over a phone’s launch in China. Looks like Acer took that matter very seriously and released their latest addition to the Iconia Tab line-up, The Iconia Tab A110, a direct rival to the Nexus 7. Maybe they want Google to pay for what it did to them in China.
The Iconia Tab A110 shares nearly identical specs to the Nexus 7 and some extra features that give it an edge over Google’s flagship tablet and most of the other 7″ tablets in the market. The A110 comes packed with a Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor, a 7″ 1024 x 600p display (that’s a bit less than the Nexus 7’s display), 1GB of RAM, 8GB Internal storage, microSD card slot, microHDMI output, 2megapixel front facing camera and latest iteration of Android OS Jelly Bean, that looks nearly the same as Stock Jelly Bean on the Nexus 7. Design wise the tab also looks identical to the Nexus 7, as both tablets are just 7″ black rectangular slabs.
The Iconia tab A110 has full access to the Google Play store and millions of apps offered there. This certainly makes it a better option than the Kindle Fire tablets because most people prefer Play store over Amazon’s app store that’s only available in select countries.
The A110 is hands-down the best tablets Acer has made so far. It may not have the same marketing as the Nexus 7 but the extra features really give it an edge over competition like Kindle Fire HD, Galaxy Tab 2, etc. The A110 is now available for pre-order with a price tag of £179.99, that’s £20 more than the 8GB variant of Nexus 7.
